Coaching Style
Jo works with clients 1-2-1 or in small groups. She believes in working closely with coaching clients to build a strong sense of trust and mutual respect in order to examine issues in a safe environment. She encourages individuals to use data, both quantitative and qualitative, as a basis for exploring issues as often there is a mismatch between individual perception and actual reality. Throughout a coaching programme, confidentiality is crucial for success and Jo ensures this is maintained through a professional contracting agreement. Feedback on progress is sought mid-way through the programme and again on conclusion.
Jo is a strong listener, yet challenging and supportive in her approach. She uses both a directive and a non-directive coaching style preferring the Solutions Focus approach, Gestalt and GROW as her preferred models. She encourages clients to see different perspectives by challenging perception and helps them learn from these insights and explore the (sometimes new) options available to them in order to achieve their desired goals. Jo has received praise from mentees and coachees for her professional, positive and thorough approach.
